Post Doc/Research Scientist Opportunity
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral or research scientist position in Earth System Modeling in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan. The research will be broadly in the area of climate and paleoclimate change. The climate change lab at the University of Michigan focuses on a diverse range of topics spanning Earth history including the dynamics of past warm climates, climate-landscape interactions, Holocene hydrological variability, and the use of water isotopes as a tracer of past and present hydrological processes. Any applicants with an interest in these or related topics are encouraged to apply.
Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in climate science, atmospheric science, paleoclimatology, or related field. Preference will be given to those with experience using earth system models such as the NCAR CESM and strong programming and communication skills. Applicants should send a curriculum vita, statement of research interest, and names of three references to Dr. Chris Poulsen (poulsen@umich.edu). The starting date of the position is flexible and could be as early as August 15, 2018.
